As much as you may enjoy porn, watching it a lot can be toxic.
When you watch porn all you see is one type of person usually: Either a built hairy muscle white guy or a smooth skinny white guy. Most of the porn only represent fit white guys. There is no diversity.
The message being sent is “If you are Black, Brown, Asian, overweight, Not masculine, or disabled, you are not sexy. And you don’t deserve to feel sexy. All you are good for is watching and buying their product.”
This way of thinking reflects in the gay community as well. Guys online are great for making others feel bad about themselves because they don’t fit the racist, ableism, body conforming standards the porn industry dictates to us.
Thats why I don’t get down with all that’s out there. I don’t need to drool over someone else to feel good. I do me quite well. And you should learn to also.
Next time you are horny, don’t turn on the porn. Just focus on yourself and learn what it’s like to discover your own sexy.
